Hurghada proves to be a vibrant destination with a lot to offer. The beauty of Hurghada lies in its versatility which shows this city is one of the most popular tourist attractions for a reason.

Project Overview

Target Audience

Hurghada.com targets tourists, travelers, and potential expats researching the Red Sea destination, covering everything from things to do and nightlife to dining and excursions. The site also serves a secondary audience of property buyers and investors, both local and international, looking at real estate listings for studios and apartments in areas like Al Ahyaa and Old Sheraton Road.

Problem Statement

With a wide content scope spanning tourism guides, news, nightlife, food, real estate, jobs, and excursions, the site needed a structure that could organize a large, constantly growing volume of listings without feeling cluttered or overwhelming. The challenge was balancing rich visual content (videos, photo galleries) with functional features like a live weather widget and WhatsApp/call CTAs for real estate inquiries, all on a custom WordPress theme.

Project Duration

Given the scope, multiple content categories (things to do, news, nightlife, food guide, real estate, excursions, jobs) plus custom post types and a live weather integration, the project was structured over a 4-5 week timeline covering architecture planning, custom theme development, and content population before launch.

The Approach

The approach focused on organizing diverse content types, attractions, news, nightlife, food, real estate, into clearly segmented homepage sections, each with its own “See all” pathway to a dedicated category page. A hero video banner was used to immediately establish the destination’s appeal, while a live local weather widget added a practical, locally relevant touch. For the real estate section, direct call and WhatsApp CTAs were embedded on each listing to enable instant inquiries from interested buyers.

Homepage

The homepage opens with a full-width welcome video showcasing Hurghada’s coastline, paired with a live weather widget for practical relevance. Distinct sections then guide visitors through Things to Do, News, Night Life, Food Guide, and Real Estate, each presented as scannable card grids with social sharing options. The page closes with partner logos and additional real estate listings to support both tourism and property-buying visitors.

Mobile Experience

The mobile layout keeps the video hero and card-based sections cleanly stacked for smooth scrolling on smaller screens, with category navigation condensed into an accessible menu. Call and WhatsApp buttons on real estate listings remain tap-ready, allowing potential buyers to reach out instantly without friction on mobile devices.
